Page Notes can be opened in the browser’s side panel instead of a popup. The side panel stays open as you browse, automatically updating to show notes for the current tab.

You can always open the side panel by right-clicking the Page Notes extension icon and selecting “Open Side Panel”. If you’d like the side panel to be the default way you open and edit notes, instead of the popup, go to Page Notes settings and change “Open notes in” to “Side Panel”.

Note: The side panel feature is not available on Firefox as Firefox does not support the side panel API.
